RSS feeds

I finally just read about what rss feeds are in learning and leading in technology magazine. They are like news headlines that you can subscribe to or post to your website. Cool. I'm going to try to get it on my efolio page.

Learning and leading article about blogging

There us an interesting article about a teacher who visited Vietnam and used a blog to communicate to her 9-10 year old students. An interesting point the author made was that she started to ask students questions. It makes me think of possible posting homework on a blog so students could post there responses. I think of might work if you could make responses private. What do you think???

Design 2

After our discussion the week before last on design I am almost overwhelmed at how much you can see, hear, feel, touch, and I would guess also taste design that is all around us. The question that has stayed in my head since our last discussion that Dr. Schneiderman asked us was, Do you always need to see design? My answer is NO! Composing music is designed along with the textures of paper, and the tastes of food. For example, if you think of the flavor combinations of ice cream isn't that a form of design by mixing. Design is all around us but we just often over look it or just ate it.

Design 2: Do you always need to see Design?

After our discussion last Wednesday I am almost overwhelmed at how much you can see, hear, feel, touch, and I would guess also taste design that is all around us.
The question that really got me thinking was when Dr. Schneiderman asked our group: Do you always need to see design? My answer is NO!! Composing music is designed. Textures of objects have a feel to them that can distinguish one from another and are designed. I am assuming that the tastes of foods are designed. If you think of flavor combinations like ice cream they are mixed or “designed”. Pink’s ideas presented about design is all around us and touches our lives everyday.

Design

Over the break I was thinking about design and a few things have come to mind. I have had force my self to look at other objects that are non electronic in nature. There is a lot of good design that can be seen in nature whether it be body plan of a creature plant or animal. A well designed object has to be easy to operate with a simple way to operate it. Thinking back to some of the electronic things I have purchased I don't really want to read the directions but to get the best use out of it you have to however I don't think you should have to if it is well designed.
